Dusty Springfield sings Burt Bacharach (1964)

Wishin’ and Hopin’ en I Just Don’t Know What To Do With Myself worden hits. Springfield neemt andere Bacharach-David klassiekers op zoals Anyone Who Had a Heart. Haar toptijd eindigt. In 1987 kent ze een revival.

Wishin’ and hopin’ and thinkin’ and prayin’
Plannin’ and dreaming each night of his charms
That won’t get you into his arms

So if you’re lookin’ to find love you can share
All you gotta do is
Hold him and kiss him and love him
And show him that you care

Show him that you care just for him
And do the things he likes to do
Wear your hair just for him, ‘cause
You won’t get him
Thinkin’ and a-prayin’
Wishin’ and a-hopin’

I just don’t know what to do with myself
Don’t know just what to do with myself
I’m so used to doing everything with you
Planning everything for two
And now that we’re through

I just don’t know what to do with my time
I’m so lonesome for you, it’s a crime
Going to a movie only makes me sad
Parties make me feel as bad
When I’m not with you, I just don’t know what to do
